Master Coach
Tony Martinez, President and owner of Silver Horn Media, LLC, is a distinguished award-winning documentary filmmaker, bilingual media and business performance coach.
He received the prestigious George Foster Peabody award and three national Emmys as director/producer on ESPN’s acclaimed SportsCentury series. Mr. Martinez wrote and produced over a dozen documentaries for the nationally acclaimed series.
Mr. Martinez is a noted performance coach, training broadcasters and business executives on performance: how to deliver powerfully on camera and how to write and produce presentations that win business – and hearts.
Once the pandemic of 2020 forced businesses to work remotely, he shifted his broadcast talent coaching to include all professionals working remotely, helping people understand how to get great on camera to unlock business communication success.
Today, Mr. Martinez is the coach of record for NBC/Telemundo owned and operated stations in the U.S. At CBS Sports he trained Tony Romo throughout the summer of 2017, leading to the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback’s debut as the networks lead NFL football analyst. He continues training sports and news broadcasters worldwide.
My Story
How I Got Started
A featured speaker and coach at CNN’s prestigious International Journalism Fellowship, Mr. Martinez mentored international broadcast journalists. In addition to his work at CNN, Mr. Martinez clients include ESPN, Microsoft, Baylor Scott & White Health and many corporate clients utilizing online meetings to deliver their messages, products and services.
He began his career as an on-air sportscaster in Phoenix and went on to successful on-air careers in Dallas and Washington, D.C., anchoring sports on both a local level as well as fill-in duties at ABC News.
In addition to his national awards, Mr. Martinez is the winner of two regional Edward R. Murrow awards, and numerous recognitions for his documentaries and storytelling.
El Corazon de Santa Fe told the story of his hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico on its 400th anniversary. In 2000, The Landry Legacy, honored former Dallas Cowboys head coach Tom Landry, winning several national awards including the IRIS. Mr. Martinez most personal story “Colors of Courage, Sons of New Mexico” is a powerful award-winning documentary on his father’s experiences in the Bataan Death March during WW II, hosted by Academy award winner Gene Hackman.
Tony and his family reside in north Texas, a few minutes from his offices at Formation at the Star in Frisco, the worldwide headquarters of his first love, the Dallas Cowboys!
